Any great ideas?

I got a new calling! I am the primary music chorister! I am so excited! It is pretty overwhelming, yet I have a sister who is the PRO at this calling. I got all sorts of things from her (like Teancum the Turkey and Bergeatha the sock puppet-some day I will take pictures of these little primary friends and show them to you.) Anyway, she has such fun ideas that hopefully I can teach the children, but have a great time at the same time. Any ideas would be gladly appreciated. I am so grateful to be in the primary where my little people are anyway, and to be part of what they are learning.

Bouncin baby bunnies

My friend has baby bunnies (9 of them!!) and was nice enough to invite us over to play with them. They were the cutest things ever. I was ALMOST convinced on taking one home with us until I came to and realized I am still not ready for a pet, partially because of the Jaynee bug! She was so excited she could hardly even contain herself! She was squeeling with all her might and stealing everyone else's bunnies that they were holding.

Need you wonder why I said "bouncin'? She was picking them up as fast as she was dropping them!

Kaylee of course was in heaven. This little girl may very well be the reason we have family pets (when I finally give in and let her have her way! Shelly how do you do it?)
Emmie was pretty brave. She was holding one that kept scratching her arm, but she loved it and followed it all over the yard. Thanks Diane for this experience! We loved it and my girls are already asking to go back!

"Rad" kids

During this year, Kaylee's school has had a few of the grades in what is called th "rad" kids program. At first I just thought it was some dumb excuse to get rid of the P.E. program, but after seeing this, I am impressed. It stands for Resisting Aggression Defensively. Throughout the last 5-6 months, she was taught how to resist others, and how to fight back. They also drill them on the whole password thing, and then how to call 911. These pictures show her calling 911 after an "Attacker" has tried to take her. Notice how huge the guy was! He was about 6'8" to begin with, and then he straps on his protective gear and he literally looked like a transformer! Jaynee said he was "scawee" (scary). This is also a picture of her defending herself. She used back kicks(that is what she called them) and some sort of elbow throw move. If my camera would have been fast enough, he picked her all the way up and she was kicking him in the groin, and then she finally threw an elbow and he put her down. But my camera was not cooperating so you are seeing the end of her little show. It was pretty cool though.

Dialing 911 to tell them about her "Attacker"-she looks really scared don't you think?
This is where punched him and aimed right for his eyes. I guess that is one of the things they taught them to aim for. Seriously for as big as he was, I would have been scared!
This is right after he put her down, and then she elbows him in the face and he pretends to fall over. I guess there have actually been 50 kids in the US that have been saved by using their rad kids techniques, so I really support this program after seeing th confidence it gave her.

Moose Twists

Serioulsy Kaylee, can you smile normal for just ONE picture?

So since daddy is out of town, we decided to have a little "girl" time and make their hair curly for church on mothers day (yes, Cam is out of town for mothers day!!! for the second year in a row-but that is another story. However, while I am on this tangent, I will give him full props for his gifts this year! He surpised me with a pedicure and a full length mirror. Not that I love to look at myself, but up until now, I have stood on a folding chair in our hallway and looked in my kids bathroom mirror. Ha! Ha! Ya gotta do what you gotta do! Anyway, he came home with this giant mirror and had in mounted on the wall before he had to leave. So, even though he had to travel this week, I guess I will forgive him and enjoy my pedicure when he gets home!) ok-so we put thier hair in twists, and my girls have nick-named them moose twists. I only got the finished picture of Jaynee cuase I was in too much of a hurry on Sunday morning trying to get them all out the door. Needless to say, I had a good laugh when I took hers out! I just had to try it, but on such baby fine hair-you can see the result. Kaylee's and Emmie's turned out cute. So we just wet her hair down, threw it up in piggys and headed to church.

Makin' mud pies

Looking pretty clean here. Who would have ever guessed how dirty 7 little kids could get? Left to right: Jesslyn( Kaylee's little best bud), Britney (Emmie's best bud), Luke, Emmie, Alyson (behind Boo), Kaylee and little Jaynee.
Painting my new fence!

This started out pretty innocent-but...I couldn't stop them! Don't you remember making mud pies? I almost felt like getting in with them. In the end, they were literally caked with mud, head to toe! I sure had fun hosing them down!!!!! From left to Right: Britney Haslem, Jesslyn Haslem, Alyson Haslem, Kaylee Jo, and Emmie.

Jaynee was having the time of her life. I think she was shocked I would let her do such a thing!
